KWANZA Nursery is a private school that is located in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. The School was started in January 1996 and has to date established itself among the leading nursery schools in Dar es Salaam

Kwanza Nursery School is affiliated to Kwanza International School, which is a primary school that is also located in Mikocheni. The two schools are located in separate campuses that are about 1.5 kilometres apart

Children from Kwanza Nursery School automatically graduate into Kwanza International School.

Welcome

The Curriculum

The school follows the British National Curriculum with its progressive development of skills. The students are divided according to age groups as follows:

Yellow Class (Baby Class): 1-2 yrs

Green Class: 2-3 yrs

Red Class: 3-4 yrs

Reception Class: 4-5 yrs

The syllabus for Green, Red and Reception Class includes Language, Number work, General Knowledge (pre-science), Art and craft, Music and Movement and Physical Education. Extra curricular activities include swimming and watching educating Television / Video.

KWANZA PRIMARY SCHOOL

KWANZA PRIMARY School was registered by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the year 2000. Since then, the school has established itself as a quality driven institution that prides itself with providing well-rounded academic and extracurricular activities to its students.

It is located on School Road, which is off Garden Road. Garden Road can be accessed through the junction that is located between TTCL offices and OilCom, which are both opposite the Commission for Science and Technology offices on the New Bagamoyo Road. School Road is about 1 kilometer from this junction.

Garden Road can also be accesssed from Old Bagamoyo Road from the Butiama Shopping Center junction. At Butiama Shopping Center junction, Garden Road is opposite the road leading to the entrance of the Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere's residence. At both junctions, there are road signs indicating the direction to the school.

CLASS TIME

The Curriculum

Kwanza follows both the British National Curriculum with its progressive development of skills and the Tanzania National Curriculum to facilitate the local students eligibility to other education institutions in the country.

At Kwanza we believe that children’s learning involves experiment, investigation and practical involvement, not just theory and drill. Learning follows understanding.

Examinations at Kwanza International School are supervised by International School Assessment (ISA) and National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in order to ensure that they conform with International and Local standards.

FOR ALL SCHOOLS

CLASSES

Class sizes are kept small so that each tracher can know their children well and monitor progress with care. Each class has a maximum of 25 students. Each class teacher has an assistant to help in managing the students

Staff are multi-national, mostly graduates, with relevant ttraining and experience. 

Classes start at 7:10am and finish at 2:00pm. 

Extra-curricular activities are offered from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesdays and Thirsdays. Details on extra-curricular activities are sent out at the beginning of the term. 

UNIFORM

School Uniform is compulsory. The uniform consists of:-

Girls: Black skirt and whte short - sleeved shirt

Boys: Black shorts and white short - sleeved shirt

All: White socks and black shoes. No trainers, sandals or flip-flops.
